It’s difficult to choose Namibia’s most spectacular site, but Sossusvlei is definitely in the running. Situated within Namib—the world’s oldest desert—in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, Sossusvlei is a large, white, salt and clay pan surrounded by towering sienna-colored dunes which, at 400 meters, are some of the largest in the world. Silent, continually shifting and ageless, watching the sun rise over the dunes is an experience you’ll treasure forever.
